 Meet the CEO: Kelly Benson
Kelly Benson began working in the field of Public Health while attending college in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at Cumberland College (now the University of the Cumberlands) double majoring in Psychology and Public Health. Kelly graduated in the top 10% of her class and played college softball. Her love of softball continues today as she plays competitively on the All About Sports softball team.
In 1996 Kelly began working with individuals who had developmental disabilities as a Recreation/Leisure Therapist at Cumberland River Comprehensive Care Center.  By 1997 she had become their Day Program Trainer.  Kelly continued to work at the Care Center until she moved to the Houston area in February of 1999.
Kelly's first position in Houston was as Office Manager for the R & L Group.  There she learned valuable information about the Home Community Support (HCS) program. Kelly joined the staff of The Sean Ashley House as a Case Manager in September, 1999. In 2003 she became the Program Manager; in 2007 she was appointed the CEO.
Since working at The Sean Ashley House, Kelly has concentrated becoming an expert in the field of autism. The expertise she has acquired has helped her to develop training for the staff of The Sean Ashley House, which has allowed them to better deal with the specific problems of autism.
